the house
This is our place in Portugal.

Built in the eighteenth century as private residence for the owners of the surrounding land, later used as local elementary school and local cafe and grocery shop.
Gozundeira lies half an hour from Lisboa and is easily accessed by the A8 Norte. It lies in the municipality of Sobral De Monte Agraço. Which is also the nearest administrative center with shops, cafe´s, cinema, restaurants, market, municipal swimming pool and all the government offices. Sobral De Monte Agraço lies a 10 minute drive from Gozundeira.

The old schoolyard is now turned into garden and courtyard with the typical Portuguese cobblestones called calzadas portuguesas.

3 stages of rehabilitation; left shows the state of things when we bought it, the middle photo shows the facelift we gave the facade in 2014 and the last one shows the new roof constructed in 2015.
